Cheryl Cobern Browne has been involved in the creative tourism industry for the last 20 years.

Since retiring to the west of Ireland from Phoenix, Arizona, and settling in Mulranny (where her husband grew up), she has had a keen interest in establishing a creative community in the village.

It started with the forming of “Gift of Hands” in 2009,  a community of women who use recycled materials from the woollen mills to create product which is then sold, with the proceeds going back to village projects.

Essence of Mulranny Art Retreats, bringing groups of international teachers and students to Mulranny, started by Cheryl in 2004, has now passed on to Lora Murphy who joined Mulranny Arts, a not for profit cooperative group operating on the campus of the Old Mulranny Convent, recently purchased and renovated for this venture.  Cheryl’s continues to host Gift of Hands and other community groups at her E.O.M. studios, including colleges such as the National College of Art and Design and their students who require the specialised flamework equipment in her studio.

Cheryl enjoys the Mosaic Arts using stone and glass and includes found objects from nature in many of her sculptures. She leads an active lifestyle.
