Daily Beginnings - Intuitive Encaustic Painting
Develop a daily painting practice using quick techniques to inspire your encaustic self-expression - from the heart. Using collage photo prompts as a springboard, this class explores how to create captivating foundational underpaintings for encaustic. You’ll learn how to further enrich these spontaneous “beginnings” with wax and colour - adding depth, texture, mixed media, and a variety of encaustic treatments to deepen visual reference and meaning.
This class also encourages you to step back from spontaneous painting – without breaking the sense of delight and artistic flow - to critically assess painterly composition and convey meaning.
Daily Reflections: Encaustic Composition and Design
Combine your intuitive encaustic painting practice with an awareness of artistic composition. Cultivating a natural eye for the elements and principles of design will result in paintings and creative process that showcase a harmonious blend of instinct and skill.
