Encaustic is one of the most versatile mediums. Many artists have come to encaustic after having worked with other disciplines and have contributed to expanding what’s possible.

My work investigates the complex web of connections through the layering of patterns and colors. The paintings are containers of time with overlapping layers of color and pattern forming a whole. Natural organic and manmade geometric shapes and space interplay. My process sometimes produces unexpected contours liken the curve of the macrocosm which is bent by mass and energy. Inspiration is found in the everyday beauty of found objects and the power of the natural world.

I love sharing my techniques and know that each person has their own experience in the world and how each person plays with and combines these skills will be their own unique expression.

I have worked with encaustic since 1986 and have been teaching since 2006. I hold a degree from Massachusetts College of Art and studied with Agnes Martin at Skowhegan School of Art. My work is represented by Space Gallery, Denver, CO and Page Bond, Richmond, VA
