Jodi Reeb
Jodi has been a full-time working artist and teacher in Minneapolis, USA for over 27 years. She has taught printmaking, acrylic and encaustic painting as well as book arts classes/workshops at colleges and art centers regionally and nationally including the International Encaustic Conference, Arrowmont and Haystack School of Art. Her artwork has been shown nationally receiving numerous public art awards and is in many private and corporate collections internationally. She is the recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board Grant in 2021 and 2018. Jodi received a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (BFA) from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, MCAD, where she instructed printmaking for over 9 years. She received a Hinge Arts Residency in 2020 through the Springboard for the Arts. She is a CORE teaching Artist for R&F Handmade Encaustic Paints, a teaching artist for Ampersand Art and Silverbrush Ltd. She offers encaustic painting workshops in her studio at Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art where she has been a co-op member for 17 years in North Loop area of Minneapolis.

Class Details
Extreme Texture in Encaustic
Be inspired to push your work to new layers and textures! You will explore creating deeply textured and layered paintings using collage, embedding objects, plaster underpaintings and carving the surface. You will learn many techniques including accretion and will be encouraged to develop and expand your voice bringing your work to new heights. An overview of a variety of mixed-media will be demonstrated including adding fiber and fabric as collage, color-mixing and creating texture working with masks and stencils.
